President Donald J. Trump nominated Kathleen Laura Kraninger to serve as Director of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection. If confirmed, Ms. Kraninger would succeed Mick Mulvaney, who is currently serving as Acting Director.

Currently, Ms. Kraninger is the Associate Director for General Government at the Office of Management and Budget. Ms. Kraninger served previously as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy at the Department of Homeland Security. She also worked for the House Committee on Appropriations and the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
