The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") issued a Request for Information ("RFI") seeking feedback on possible changes to existing rules, as well as the potential adoption of new rules.

The RFI was issued specifically to solicit comments on the content of rules, as a previous RFI requested information on rulemaking processes, and future RFIs will be issued on the CFPB's regulatory implementation and guidance functions. The RFI also applies only to rules that have been issued by the CFPB, not rules that were transferred by Congress from other agencies to the CFPB.

Comments will be accepted for 90 days after the publication of the RFI in the Federal Register (which is projected to occur on March 19, 2018).

The content of this article is intended to provide a general guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought about your specific circumstances.
