The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") issued a Request for Information ("RFI") on the agency's handling of complaints and inquiries from consumers. The RFI encompasses complaints submitted to the CFPB concerning regulated entities, as well as questions submitted to the Office of Consumer Response.

In particular, the CFPB is seeking input regarding potential improvements to the complaint and inquiry processes, as well as best practices for addressing complaints and inquiries. A previous RFI was issued in connection with how the CFPB publicly reports consumer complaints.

Comments will be accepted for 90 days following publication of the RFI in the Federal Register, which is expected to occur on April 16, 2018.
