The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") issued a Request for Information ("RFI") seeking feedback on the CFPB's process for the public reporting of consumer complaints.

The RFI was issued to solicit information on potential changes to CFPB public reporting practices. In particular, the CFPB is seeking information on the usefulness of complaint reporting and analysis for industry members and other stakeholders, and specific suggestions on improving complaint reporting and publication practices in light of the CFPB's statutory mandate to ensure efficiency and transparency in markets for consumer financial products. Comments may include suggestions on (i) the frequency of reports, (ii) information and data fields to be included in reports, and (iii) the methodology for complaint analyses.

Comments will be accepted for 90 days after the publication of the RFI in the Federal Register (which is projected to occur on March 7, 2018).
