In 2016, Kaden Boriss has been forging ahead with its relationship with the Queensland Government Insurance Fund ("QGIF") who are the government based insurers for Queensland Health and all Hospitals and Health Services in Queensland. Kaden Boriss was one of just 4 panel firms appointed in 2015 to undertake all the medico-legal work for Queensland Health, and has been receiving a steady supply of instructions since to investigate and defend claims.
In addition to claims work, Kaden Boriss has been asked to directly act on behalf of hospitals in regards to investigations by statutory bodies. In several instances we have assisted hospitals with responses to the Health Ombudsman. Kaden Boriss has also been engaged to assist in coronial investigations arising from deaths in hospitals – with its extensive workplace health and safety practice and familiarity with the Coronial process, Kaden Boriss is well placed to assist.
Kaden Boriss looks forward to continuing to build its health law practice in 2017, and extending its relationship with QGIF, Queensland Health, the Hospitals and Health Services across the state, and to all other private health care providers.
