NFA reminded firms that the upcoming deadline for associated persons of swap dealers and intermediaries to satisfy the Swaps Proficiency Requirements is January 31, 2021. NFA emphasized that an associated person who fails to satisfy the requirements by the compliance date will not be able to engage in swaps activities.

After January 31, 2021, an individual will need to satisfy the requirements prior to being approved as a swap-associated person.
