Although the American Federation of Musicians Commercial Announcements Agreement expired in early December, the Joint Policy Committee and the AFofM agreed to extend the contract until the end of March.

In preparation for the upcoming contract negotiations, the JPC is soliciting industry input on the contract, which covers the use of union musicians in commercial announcments. The JPC just released a survey asking about industry members' experience working under the contract, including about the types of claims that AFofM has made.  According to the JPC, "Your answers will help us gather information about the issues associated with the current Commercial Announcements Agreement and ideas for the upcoming negotiations in the spring of 2020."  The JPC invited industry members to respond to the survey through February 1, 2020.
