Shearman & Sterling represented Granite Construction Inc. in the acquisition of Coast Mountain Resources Ltd. from Hall & Tenney Holdings Ltd. The transaction was announcement on April 25 in a press release.

Granite Construction, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "GVA," is one of the largest diversified construction and construction materials companies in the United States as well as a full-suite provider in the transportation, water infrastructure, and mineral exploration markets.

Coast Mountain Resources is a construction aggregate producer based in British Columbia, Canada on Malahat First Nation land, and operates the Bamberton Quarry on Vancouver Island, strategically located on the deep water of the Saanich Inlet.

The Shearman & Sterling team that represented Granite Construction was led by M&A partner Alain Dermarkar, M&A associate Kyle Park, and tax partner Todd Lowther.
