With $ 217,000, NASA will finance the development of the Panamanian proposal to develop a "Forest Information and Management System".

The Vice President and Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Isabel De Saint Malo de Alvarado, underlined "the importance of this project within the framework of the Scientific, Technological and Innovation Diplomacy program coordinated by the Foreign Ministry". He highlighted the achievement "as an important step in the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 15, on the Life of Terrestrial Ecosystems, particularly the goal of Sustainable Forest Management," according to the source.
For his part, the Panamanian Minister of Environment, Emilio Sempris, congratulated the team that formulated the proposal and stressed that the Alliance for the Million Hectares Reforested will have the best possible technology to monitor progress in this country goal for the next 20 years.
