Attorneys at Law Borenius & Kemppinen participated in the Women, Business and the Law project by providing information concerning the Finnish laws and regulations that shape women's opportunities in the following three areas: Using property, Accessing institutions and Going to court.
The Women, Business and the Law report is publication of the World Bank Group that compares laws and regulations affecting women's capacities and decisions to participate in the workforce and start businesses.
As well as men, women also consider employment and entrepreneurship as important ways out of poverty and increasing their incomes. However, women employers and entrepreneurs may also face additional constraints due to their gender.
Women, Business and the Law's pilot 2010 edition examined gender differentiations in legal treatment – one of many factors that determine the course of women's business lives. The pilot covered 128 economies and the initial dataset established 6 indicators of gender differences in formal laws and institutions.
For Women, Business and the Law 2011 World Bank is planning on expanding as well as adding indicators. Attorneys at Law Borenius & Kemppinen is proud and grateful to be able to participate in such an important and valuable project.
