A FINRA rule proposal to amend the requirements for Firm Designated IDs under Consolidated Audit Trail ("CAT NMS Plan") compliance rules (the FINRA Rule 6800 series) was published in the Federal Register.

As previously covered, the proposal would amend the CAT NMS Plan compliance rules to be consistent with recent amendments to the CAT NMS Plan approved by the SEC (see here). The SEC waived the 30-day operative delay for the rule proposal, making it operative as of July 31, 2020. Comments on the proposal must be submitted by August 27, 2020.
