Overview
U.S. Homeland Security (DHS) announced that non-essential travelers, who have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and who can present appropriate documentation and proof of vaccination, will be allowed to enter the U.S. via land and ferry ports of entry (POEs) beginning in November, 2021. This includes travel to visit family and friends and for tourism. In January 2022, DHS will require that all inbound foreign nationals entering the U.S. via land or ferry POEs be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination, regardless of whether the travel be for essential or non-essential purposes.
What are the Changes?
Beginning in November, non-essential travel for fully vaccinated travelers will be allowed for travelers entering via a land or ferry POE. In January, all foreign nationals entering the U.S. will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination.
