On 18 December 2017, National Treasury published draft regulations in terms of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 9 of 2017 for public comment ("Draft Financial Sector Regulations"). The Draft Financial Sector Regulations can be accessed here.

Inter alia, the Draft Financial Sector Regulations are intended to clarify the performance of functions in terms of the Financial Sector Regulation Act, 9 of 2017 during the transitional period prior to the establishment of the financial sector regulators (by which is meant the Prudential Authority and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority) and the Financial Services Tribunal.

Comments on the Draft Financial Sector Regulations must be submitted in writing on or before 31 January 2018.
