Ward and Smith is pleased to announce that litigator Amy Wooten has been reappointed to the Bench-Bar Committee of the Wake County Bar Association and the Tenth Judicial District Bar. Her term will run through the end of 2026.
The Bench-Bar Committee fosters open communication and collaboration between judges and practicing attorneys in Wake County and the Tenth Judicial District. The Committee works to improve court procedures, address practical challenges that affect both the bench and the bar, and strengthen the working relationships that make the local legal system function well for everyone involved.
Amy’s reappointment reflects her long-standing commitment to the legal community in Wake County. She currently chairs the Publications Subcommittees of both the Tenth Judicial District Bar and the Wake County Bar Association’s Professionalism Committee, and she also serves on the Professionalism Committees of both organizations. At the state level, she is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Insurance Law Section Council, CLE Planning Committee, and Publications Subcommittee of the Professionalism Committee.
In her legal practice, Amy co-chairs Ward and Smith’s Insurance Counseling and Recovery Practice Group, where she represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. Her broader litigation practice includes complex commercial matters, fiduciary duty claims, community association issues, and unfair and deceptive trade practices actions.
