Ward and Smith is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Public School Forum of North Carolina's prestigious Jay Robinson Education Leadership Awards.
The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 1, at the Angus Barn in Raleigh, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and made significant contributions to public education in the state.
Established in 2000 in honor of the late Dr. Jay Robinson, a towering figure in North Carolina education, the award recognizes exemplary leaders who embody his lifelong commitment to students and the public school system. Dr. Robinson's remarkable 50-year career spanned roles as a teacher, coach, principal, superintendent of both the Cabarrus and Charlotte-Mecklenburg school systems, Vice President for Public Affairs at the University of North Carolina system, and Chair of the State Board of Education. He also held the distinction of being the first president of the Public School Forum and remained an Emeritus Board Member until his passing in April 2000.
