Jersey has a wide selection of schools, both private and government-run.

Pupils sit academic examinations which are administered by the UK examining boards (A levels, GCSE examinations) and those wishing to pursue degree courses usually do so at UK universities. Under the double tax treaty with the UK, students and business apprentices from the Island receiving full-time education or training in the UK and vice-versa are exempt from UK tax on sums received from persons in Jersey for maintenance, education or training.
