The CER has published its decision on the South-North Gas Pipeline (SNP) and Compliance with EU law.  In response to a formal notice of infringement received from the European Commission, the CER published a consultation paper highlighting the key compliance issues in respect of the SNP and how they might be addressed.  It looked at two options for the location of the Relevant Point on the SNP, namely Gormanston (where the SNP physically connects to the 2nd Subsea Interconnector) or the point where the SNP crosses the jurisdictional border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.  The decision that has been taken by the CER is to locate the Relevant Point at Gormanston and consequently extend the BGE (UK) Code down to this Point.  The CER's decision paper sets out the practical implications of this decision and the next steps to be taken.  A copy of the decision paper is available here.
