The Committee has issued a report on clamping on private property, indicating its view that it needs to be regulated by legislation particularly in sensitive areas such as hospitals. It has also recommended a uniform and regulated appeals process, a national code of practice governing clampers on public and private property, and appropriate training and vetting of clamping company staff. The report, called The Regulation of Vehicle Clamping, contains 38 legislative proposals for the Heads of a Bill on the regulation of the vehicle clamping industry. The report is available to read here.
