Butterfield is again backing Guernsey Finance initiatives to develop Guernsey business in the Far East.

Paul Hodgson, Managing Director of Butterfield Trust (Guernsey) Limited, will speak at the STEP Asia "Trust Across the Frontiers" conference in Singapore, where Guernsey Finance is a lead sponsor and exhibitor.

With particular experience in the design, implementation and administration of Private Trust Company structures, he is a member of a panel chaired by The Hon. Mark Bridges of Farrer & Co which will discuss the relative merits of foundations and trust structures.

It is the second time that Butterfield, which has an office in Hong Kong, has supported the Guernsey promotional activity in the region.

Immediately following the STEP conference next month, Mr Hodgson will join a Guernsey Finance delegation at conferences in Hong Kong and Shanghai which will comprise presentations, masterclasses and seminars on what Guernsey has to offer.

Butterfield's Brian Acton, head of Marketing and Business Development, said: "Our marketing activity is complementary to the work of Guernsey Finance which has had an office in Shanghai since 2007. Their focus supports our goal and by working alongside Guernsey Finance we hope that we can also add value to the Island's mission in the Far East."
