Placing a focus on female empowerment, law firm SKW Schwarz hosted the first DIGITAL FEMALE event in cooperation with Axel Springer at Münzstudio in Berlin on September 12, 2019.

A panel of experts discussed "Assertion and negotiation strategies for successful women in the IT and digital sector" with some 70 attendees from well-known companies. The panel included Clara von Hugo (Head of Leadership & Expert Development at Axel Springer), Franziska Fuchs (Director - Discovery / Senior Legal Counsel IT Law at Bosch), and Alisha Andert (Head of Legal Innovation at Flightright). Elisabeth Noltenius and Christina Bauer, the two initiators of Digital Female, and both lawyers at SKW Schwarz's IT/Digital Business department, moderated the panel. Sandra Sophia Redeker, lawyer at SKW Schwarz's IP department, gave the keynote address.

"We are very pleased that the event turned out to be such a great success. The very lively discussions in particular show that we have hit the mark with this topic: Female executives in the digital industry usually behave differently than their male peers in negotiations and frequently have to work harder to gain the professional respect of their negotiation partners," said Elisabeth Noltenius. Christina Bauer emphasized, "We are experiencing the best time for courageous women and this event creates the ideal platform for learning from role models and for exchanging experiences."

After this impressive kickoff, additional events will be held at other SKW Schwarz locations. Dr. Matthias Orthwein, Head of IT & Digital Business added, "We intend to use this series to advocate dedicated women in the digital industry and to contribute to socio-political discussions."

The Digital Female event series is aimed in particular at aspirational women in the digital industry. In addition to networking with ambitious women, the key objective is to exchange experiences and tips to support women in their daily work.
