Indeed, California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Commissioners have said that "energy storage has the potential to be a 'game changer' for our electric grid," and the U.S. Department of Energy in its December 2013 comprehensive study of Grid Energy Storage noted that the "energy storage business could grow from $200 million in 2012 to a $19 billion industry by 2017."
