The director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"), Michelle K. Lee, recently announced that she plans to hear a case at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO"), Michelle K. Lee, recently announced that she plans to hear a case at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.  Ms. Lee was confirmed by the Senate as head of the USPTO in March 2015.  Before joining the UPSTO, Ms. Lee worked as legal counsel for Google and was a partner at the law firm of Fenwick & West LLP.  Ms. Lee holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, as well as degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from M.I.T.
