Interesting uptick in the number of bank IPOs this year according to an article in the Wall Street Journal.
According to the May 2014 M&A Monitor put out by investment banking firm Olsen Palmer, there have been 28 banks that have announced an IPO since the beginning of 2013. The markets have warmed up considerably to bank deals, and banks are taking advantage of them for their growth strategies. This should help fuel the continued wave of bank M&A activity we have been seeing recently.
