The CFTC announced that Charlie Thornton, Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer under Chair Heath P. Tarbert, will depart the agency. Previously, Mr. Thornton served as Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs ("OLIA") Director under Chair J. Christopher Giancarlo.

Prior to joining the CFTC in 2017, Mr. Thornton was Senior Professional Staff and Counsel to the U.S. Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee.
