It’s that time of year again. Thousands of employers are gearing up to prepare petitions on April 1 to enter the H-1B lottery. At stake is the chance to obtain one of the 85,000 coveted employment-based visas available for the upcoming year. In the past three years, the number of employers competing for these visas has grown exponentially, thus decreasing the odds of being selected in a lottery. It is further expected that a record-breaking number of petitions will be filed this year.
