Jeffrey Sultanik was quoted in The Pocono Record article "Making More Than 100 Teachers Part-Time One of Stroudsburg's Budget Scenarios." Full text can be found in the March 19, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

The Stroudsburg Area School District could eliminate 45 teaching positions if it doesn't take money from its fund balance or raise taxes to make up for a $4.5 million deficit.

Negotiations with the teachers' union have been ongoing since January and teachers' contracts are scheduled to expire on June 30, said school board solicitor Jeffrey Sultanik.

Though nothing has been agreed on, Sultanik said both sides have been discussing the financial needs of the school district and there could be some collective bargaining agreements that would mitigate the "draconian" issues.

"Both parties are talking about the financial needs of the district," he said. "Some excellent questions were raised in the association."
