HKA's Jad Chouman, Partner and Head of Middle East, has been ranked Number 1 in the Lawyers Sub-Category on Construction Week Middle East's ‘Power 150' list for 2024.

The construction industry is a vital pillar of the global economy, significantly influencing various sectors and communities. In recent years, the Middle East's construction market experienced rapid growth, driven by an influx of mega and gigaprojects led by both governments and private stakeholders. To highlight this dynamic industry, Construction Week Middle East presented a ranked list of the most influential figures and companies at the forefront of change. Celebrating its 15th edition, this year, the publication expanded its annual ‘Power 100' list to a comprehensive ‘Power 150', covering the MENA region.

Jad Chouman's exemplary leadership has been instrumental in cementing HKA's foundation in the region. Since becoming the Head of the Middle East, Chouman has spearheaded ambitious growth and diversification strategies. His hands-on role in managing client relationships, securing high-profile projects and fostering cross-regional collaboration across the EMEA region has significantly boosted HKA's revenue and market presence.

I am delighted to be recognised along with my fellow peers in the Construction Week Power 150 List, ranking number 1. This is a testament to not just myself but my colleagues' fantastic efforts in providing an invaluable service to our respected clients,” said Jad.

Under Chouman's guidance, HKA consolidated its leading position in the sector, notably gaining the Regional Headquarters license from the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia (MISA). HKA was one of the first major international consultancy firms in the construction claims and expert sector to achieve this status.

Over the last 12 months, HKA has been involved in over 410 projects across 12 countries with an average capital expenditure of $1.61 billion. Noteworthy engagements included major rail projects in the GCC, as well as infrastructure developments in Saudi Arabia, and various other high-profile projects across the GCC and North Africa.

Furthermore, HKA's commitment to social responsibility was evident through its contributions of over 3,000 volunteer hours from 2021 to 2023. The firm continues to support various causes, reflecting its dedication to community impact initiatives.

Chouman's recognition as the top influential figure in the Middle East's construction industry has underscored his exceptional contributions and HKA's continued leadership and innovation in the field.

About Power 150 and the methodology used:

The ‘Power 150' list is divided into six sub-categories: Top 35 Contractors, Top 45 Developers, Top 20 Consultants, Top 20 Sub-contractors, Top 20 Architects and Designers, and Top 10 Lawyers. The rigorous methodology for the list included criteria such as the total value of projects launched in the last 12 months, revenue in 2023, revenue projections for 2024, present backlog as of 2023, CSR initiatives, and overall public reputation. This comprehensive approach ensured that the list accurately reflected the most influential and dynamic companies shaping the Middle East's construction industry.
