We have received reports that the " KEA TRADER ", a 2017 built container vessel flying the Maltese flag, has grounded on reefs off Mare Island.

We have received reports that the " KEA TRADER ", a 2017 built container vessel flying the Maltese flag, has grounded on reefs off Mare Island.

The vessel is hard aground. Owners are being requested to put a salvage plan together and it is possible professional salvage services will be required.

It is also likely that General Average will be declared.

So far as any recovery is concerned, we have identified the vessel's P&I Club.
