The Cabinet Office has today published proposals for implementation of the new European Procurement Directives, which came into force on 17th April 2014

(MacRoberts e-update 28 March 2014).

Consultation responses on the proposals are due by 17 October 2014 at 12am, and the Cabinet Office proposals indicate a timetable for new implementing regulations to be in place earlier than the two years required by the EU, to take advantage of the new flexibilities as soon as possible.

It is currently anticipated that the Scottish Government will consult on proposals for implementation of the new directives in Scotland later this year. Member States require to ensure implementation by 17th April 2016.
