The Supreme Court has rejected objections to the controversial Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), exhausting all domestic court processes available to protesters.

First Minister Alex Salmond has said that procurement of the AWPR will now start "within days". The AWPR is to bebundled together with the £100m Balmedie to Tipperty road scheme, with the two projects being let as a single contract.

Prior Information Notices are to be issued this week, with the bundled projects being put out for tender early in 2013. Works are expected to be complete by spring 2018.
