Scottish Futures Trust has published a timetable with details of pipeline Scottish NPD (Non-Profit Distributing) projects.

Launched at the SFT Conference on 4 October, the projects are listed under Transport, Health (Acute), Health (hub), Education (Colleges) and Education (Schools).

The timetable gives a summary of 22 projects in all, with an estimated total value of around £2.5bn, including the M8 Bundle, the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Inverness, Glasgow and Kilmarnock Colleges, and 10 schools projects. The current status of each project, the procuring body, the estimated project value, and the anticipated timing of notices in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) are noted.

The timetable will no doubt be welcomed by those involved in the sector and it is hoped that SFT will publish updates from time to time.

Also at the Conference, Alex Neil, Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure and Capital Investment confirmed the Scottish Government's commitment to the NPD model, saying:

"Capital spending is vital for the health of our economy, which is why we are committed to sustained investment in Scotland's infrastructure despite draconian cuts to our capital budget imposed by Westminster. These projects will energise our economy and deliver a legacy of infrastructure assets."

Mr Neil also announced that later in 2011 the Scottish Government will unveil its Infrastructure Investment Plan, "a blueprint for ambitious capital investment for the next ten years that underlines infrastructure as an essential lever in our economic strategy for Scotland".

Commenting on the timetable, MacRoberts Projects Partner Andrew Orr said, "It is very helpful to be able to see at a glance the projected future of revenue funded infrastructure investment in Scotland. It is encouraging to see that there is so much investment planned. This will hopefully have a positive effect on future confidence for the market."

"MacRoberts Projects Group has had the privilege of acting for clients in relation to some aspect of every NPD project that has been procured in Scotland to date, and we are looking forward to helping clients in their involvement in many more."

The timetable can be found on the SFT website.
