The Department for Energy and Climate Change ("DECC") has requested views on which burdens imposed by energy and climate change policies and regulations should be amended, reduced or removed. Lord Marlock, Minister for Energy and Climate Change, is overseeing the consultation, which is part of an ongoing Government commitment to reduce regulatory red tape burdens on businesses whilst maintaining standards of protection under the auspices of the better regulation programme.
The aim of the exercise is for businesses to highlight existing or planned DECC regulations which they feel should be simplified or repealed. The particular focus is on regulations that businesses feel are onerous or badly-designed.
Responses to the consultation exercise should be submitted to Ferry.Lienert@decc.gsi.gov.uk by 1 July 2010. The full letter calling for responses can be found here
