The Law Commission published recommendations on 27 February 2014 in relation to the enforceability of marital agreements, and to clarify the law relating to "needs" on divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership. It believes  making pre and post-nuptial agreements legally binding will make it easier for couples to manage their finances after a split.
