Chief executive of SCVO calls on William Shawcross to resign
The chief executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations has said that William Shawcross, the chair of the Charity Commission, should resign because his views and prejudices bring his office into disrepute.

The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland publishes its annual report
Two key highlights are:
- 1,306 charities were registered during the year, bringing the total number of charities on the new register of charities to 1,337 by 31 March 2015
- 116 concerns about charities were received, with the Commission progressing 102 concerns to conclusion by the year end

OSCR publishes example accounts for charities
The Scottish Charity Regulator publishes example accounts illustrating the new charity Statements of Recommended Practice that came into effect for charities with accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2015.

If self-regulation cannot work the Commission could regulate fundraising
The chair of the Charity Commission, told The Times that should Sir Stuart Etherington's review of fundraising self-regulation find that the current system does not work, the Government would "have to consider" passing that responsibility to the regulator.
