The Indian economy has witnessed remarkable growth over the last three decades. A decade back, India was ranked 11th in the world in terms of overall gross domestic product. In 2022, even while recovering from the impact of COVID-19, Indian GDP grew by ~6.8%, overtaking the U.K. to become the fifth largest economy in the world. India is expected to continue its strong growth going forward – As per International Monetary Fund estimates, India's GDP per capita is also expected to grow at a healthy year-on-year growth rate of ~7.9% over the period 2022-27.

"Airports in India at Inflexion Point," a knowledge paper by A&M India Managing Director Sudeep Mehrotra and Senior Director Varun Agrawal, encompasses key changes observed in the Indian Airport sector over the last decade and the trends that are likely to shape the sector over the next decade.
