Since April 1, 2021 at the Intellectual Property Agency under
the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan introduced a
procedure for accelerated examination of applications for granting
protection to the objects of IP.
The procedure for consideration of the application for trademark
is reduced from 7 months to 1 month, provided that the additional
fee is paid and the necessary documents are provided.
The accelerated procedure can be applied to all applications
submitted to the registering body after January 1, 2021.
The decision on trademark registration issued following the
accelerated examination may be cancelled by the interested parties
on the basis of priority rights.
Similar procedures are envisaged for applications for
inventions, utility models and industrial designs.
