Cox & Palmer is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzanne Rix, QC, as Managing Partner of the Halifax office, effective April 22, 2022. Suzanne is multi-lingual and is the first female Managing Partner of Cox & Palmer's Halifax office.
Suzanne has a thriving practice in the areas of citizenship and immigration law and she will continue to serve her clients. Suzanne will also continue in her role as Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany for the Maritime Provinces.
Suzanne is an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association's National Immigration Law Section and a member of the Accessing the Skilled Workforce task force of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
Suzanne has previously held leadership roles in the firm as chair of the Halifax Business Immigration group and as a member of the Halifax Executive Committee.
Suzanne joined Cox & Palmer in 2001 and became a partner in 2005. She received her Queen's Counsel designation in 2021. Suzanne succeeds Dan Ingersoll, QC, who, earlier this spring, was appointed to the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.
