Products that are private labeled by retailers, whether sold online or through brick and motor stores, present product compliance and liability challenges that should be evaluated and managed—ideally as part of the product launch plan and not only after a problem arises.
Topics
This webinar addressed issues including:
- understanding consumer product compliance obligations and liability risks associated with private labeling;
- key factors to consider in evaluating private label opportunities with business clients; and
- re-evaluating supply agreements and product liability coverage for private labeling.
Speakers
This webinar was presented by Eric Rubel and Michelle Gillice from Arnold & Porter, and Mary Toro, who recently retired from Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) where she worked for more than 30 years, including as Director, Regulatory Enforcement. Eric was General Counsel of CPSC from 1994 to 1997, and Michelle was an attorney at CPSC from 2002 to 2012. Arnold & Porter's leading CPSC team regularly represents retailers and other companies in product safety matters.
