Harshwinder “Harshy” Kaur Badhesha, an attorney at Taft (formerly Sherman & Howard) has been appointed president-elect of the South Asian Bar Association of Colorado (SABA-CO). She will assume the role of president in 2026.
“I’m honored to be leading the Colorado chapter next year,” said Badhesha. “I see this as a chance to strengthen the local legal community, build lasting partnerships with other bar associations, and advocate for issues that impact our members and the broader South Asian community.”
Badhesha has been a SABA-CO member for seven years, since her first year of law school, and has served in various leadership roles within the organization.
“As president, my goal will be to ensure that SABA-CO continues to be a strong and inclusive space where South Asian attorneys can find mentorship, professional development, and a sense of belonging,” said Badhesha.
In June 2025, Denver will be hosting the SABA North American Conference for the first time. Badhesha will serve on the conference committee as Colorado welcomes more than 1,000 South Asian attorneys and legal professionals from across the country. This will create opportunities for community engagement, professional networking, and elevate the visibility of the South Asian legal community in the state.
Recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers, Badhesha represents clients in commercial and civil litigation matters, including corporate, construction, contract, professional liability, licensing, regulatory, and real estate. She focuses on construction and real estate disputes, including breach of contract, property development, mechanic’s liens, construction defects, adverse possession, Colorado’s Construction Defect Action Reform Act (CDARA), and zoning issues. In addition to her involvement with SABA, Badhesha is a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association.
SABA-CO is a non-profit organization whose mission includes the promotion and advancement of South Asian attorneys by way of professional networking, mentoring, and education to attorneys and law students.
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Sherman & Howard combined with Taft, creating a firm powered by more than 1,000 attorneys from Washington, D.C. to the Mountain West. The combination has enabled the combined firm to deepen its bench of attorneys and strengthen its service offerings.
