Washington, D.C., (January 24, 2005) – The international law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced that attorney Justin Stiefel will join the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Mr. Stiefel will work in Dorsey’s legislative group, assisting clients with legislative and administrative matters – especially in the energy and telecommunications industries.

"In our Washington, D.C., office, we saw an opportunity to bolster our capabilities for government clients and those who do business with the government, particularly in energy and telecommunications," said Pete Hendrixson, Dorsey’s managing partner. "Having worked in government at a very high level, Justin has an informed perspective on the legislative issues that impact our clients’ businesses."

Andy Brown, co-chair of Dorsey’s Energy and Regulatory group, added, "Justin is a problem solver and he will help our clients on legislative and administrative matters, especially when they face complex regulatory issues."

Mr. Stiefel is a Capitol Hill veteran who spent most of the last seven years in high level positions in the U.S. Senate. He joins Dorsey from the office of Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) where he was chief of staff from 2003 to 2004 and campaign manager for the senator's recent successful reelection.

Prior to joining Senator Murkowski's office, Justin held several positions in the office of Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), including deputy press secretary, legislative aide, and legislative counsel. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering in 1997 from the University of Idaho and his J.D. in 2001 from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
