Last week, our team had the privilege of meeting with The Hon Scott Farlow MLC and Mr Tim James MP to discuss the upcoming review by the Legislative Council of theDesign and Building Practitioners Act 2020and theResidential Apartment Buildings (Compliance and Enforcement) Act 2020.
It was a pleasure to be heard on some of the experiences and concerns raised by our clients, particularly in relation to:
- the complex regulatory framework within the building and construction industry;
- the apportionment of statutory duties; and
- our suggested amendments moving forward.
