Kinstellar is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mert Elçin as Partner and leader of our reinvigorated Turkish law practice. For compliance with local bar requirements, Turkish law services will be provided by KST Law in cooperation with our foreign attorney partnership in Turkey, Kinstellar Foreign Attorney Partnership, headed by Edmund Emre Özer. Mert and Emre are supported by a dedicated team of lawyers, which we are growing continuously.
Mert Elçin, a renowned Turkish-qualified lawyer, brings over a decade of experience in corporate, M&A, banking and finance transactions, as well as dispute resolution matters. His client portfolio includes banks, brokers, insurers, asset managers, investment funds, and other market participants from various industries. He boasts an impressive academic background, holding an LL.M. (Summa Cum Laude) in International and Comparative Law from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium, and a PhD in Comparative Contract Law and International Arbitration from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy.
Emre Özer, an English-law qualified lawyer, previously spent almost a decade at a leading law firm in London. With a broad corporate and corporate finance practice, he specialises in public and private acquisitions, joint ventures, financing, and capital markets transactions. He has represented clients across various sectors, including many of the highest profile transactions in Turkey. His expertise has earned him recognition as a leading corporate lawyer by international legal directories. Chambers & Partners highlights in its recent edition his "extensive knowledge and very hands-on approach."
