Following a meeting of the joint Anguilla Financial Services Association (AFSA) and Financial Services Commission (FSC) legislation committee yesterday, it has been announced that a thorough review of Anguilla’s trust legislation will commence immediately.

Practitioners have been given until 31st August 2004 to submit recommendations to the Financial Services Commission for ways to strengthen the legislation to reflect current best industry practice.

In announcing the review, the Deputy Director of the Financial Services Commission Mr. Carlyle K. Rogers, indicated that the purpose of the review is to ensure that Anguilla’s trust legislation is up to date and as modern as possible. This is all part of the process of ensuring that Anguilla’s legislative offerings result in more quality business coming to the jurisdiction Mr. Rogers commented.
