He was also deeply involved in the negotiations that led up to the adoption of the 1982 United Nations' Convention on the Law of the Sea.
He held a bachelor of law degree (SH) from the University of Indonesia, and an LL.M from Columbia University's School of Law.
At ABNR, Nugroho focused his practice on international trade law, including WTO related matters, and served as managing partner from 2008 to 2010.
He continued until recently to attend ABNR social events, together with his wife, Mrs. Nan Irama Wisnumurti.
