The States of Jersey has passed into law the COVID-19 (Signing of Instruments) (Jersey) Regulations 2020 ("Regulations"). The Regulations temporarily provide that from 23 April 2020, Jersey Wills can be signed and witnessed via audio-visual link, such as Skype or FaceTime.

We have seen a significant increase in the number of existing and new clients wishing to update their existing Wills or put new Wills in place and the Regulations will allow clients to do so without requiring third party witnesses to be physically present at the time of signing.

The Regulations are a welcome development, allowing individuals to arrange their affairs in a safe and convenient manner.
