Minister of Economy and Finance Dulcidio De La Guardia said that Panama will close 2015 with economic growth of 6 percent, one of the highest rates in the region.

In addition, the inflation rate will be about 0.2 percent, which is the lowest level in a decade.

The ministry said it has a positive outlook for 2016 as well due to the start of major projects such as the redevelopment of Colón, line 2 of the Metro and the expansion of the highway between Arraiján and the Bridge of the Americas.

De La Guardia said that foreign investment has been an important factor in this growth.
