The Malta Financial Services Authority yesterday published the Financial Instrument Test, and its respective guidelines, that applies to issuers offering DLT assets to the public as well as to individuals providing services in the context of the VFA Act or the financial services legislation generally. Such a test aims at establishing whether a DLT asset can qualify as an Electronic Money, a Financial Instrument, a Virtual Financial Asset or a Virtual Token.
