The law would benefit pregnant and post-partum women and parents until their newborn child reaches one year of age, persons with disabilities, persons who regularly engage in activities at a long distance from the workplace, and those who suffer an illness that temporarily prevents them from doing their job for a period not exceeding three consecutive months.
This law would amend article 4 of the decree regulating the General Labor Law, which establishes that persons providing services from their domiciles or offices, without going to the employer's premises on a daily basis, are not considered "employees."
