Aug 20, 2019 – The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score dropped by nine points as Canada immigration authorities conducted a second Express Entry draw in eight days.
In the August 20 draw, 3,600 candidates received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Candidates required a minimum CRS of 457 points, compared to the 466 required in the previous Express Entry draw.
This was the fourth consecutive draw in which 3,600 ITAs have been issued.
Authorities have now invited 56,200 candidates in 2019, against a high-skilled immigration admission target of 81,400.
IRCC broke the record for annual Express Entry ITAs in 2018 with 89,800.
The draw saw the tie-breaking rule implemented on March 24, 2019 at 11.32am EST. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.
This was the 17th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2019 and 124th overall.
