Nov 13, 2015 – Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has invited 1,506 Express Entry candidates to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada. The lowest qualifying score was 484, representing a slight drop over the previous round. This is the eleventh consecutive draw for which the lowest qualifying score has been below the 600 point benchmark.

While qualifying scores and invitations have seemingly plateau'd generally, Green and Spiegel expects that as the inventory of old applications is cleared, that qualifying scores will drop and the total number of invitations issued will rise. While only 26,550 invitations have been issued since program inception in January 2015, this number is expected to rise in 2016 when Express Entry becomes the principal source of immigration applicants to Canada.

Express Entry uses a comprehensive ranking system to rank prospective immigrants to Canada. Candidates are awarded up to 600 points based on a variety of factors meant to assess their ability to succeed in Canada, including age, language skills, education and work experience. An additional 600 points are awarded for holding a valid job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment.
